Why Many People Should Take CPR Certification Courses

By Leslie Ball

Having been around since the 1740s, it is surprising that a big number of the population has not taken it seriously to train in CPR. This is why many people are still losing their lives despite the fact that they can be saved if resuscitation is offered in time. You can take the CPR certification courses in order to gain the important skills of saving lives through use of resuscitation procedures.

Many people continue to lose their lives from pulmonary arrest because there is no first aid given in form of resuscitation. It is very saddening to see a person collapse and die as you watch because you are not in position to give the resuscitation. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is not something new to many people, and while it has been there since 1740s, a considerable number has not taken the right step to undertake this course.

Inability to perform resuscitation may happen if one has not trained, took the training sometime ago but the skill has lapsed, or they fear conducting the resuscitation because they did not get the right training. When you undertake resuscitation training, make sure you are doing it out of passion and you should be confident of yourself.

In the first few minutes when circulatory attack has occurred, one may show agonal breathing. This is an irregular breathing characterized by gasps of breathe. It should not be confused with normal breathing and the person can be resuscitated right away. Often, people feel that because they have not experienced a situation where they need to perform resuscitation, they do not need to have such training.

Resuscitation may be done through chest compressions where about 100 to 120 compressions are done in a minute. It may also be done through rescue breathes where a mouth-to-mouth breathing is performed to the patients. Today, taking a CPR course may prove very important not only to other people but also to you.

Being confronted with an incident where resuscitation is needed is one thing that is troubling. It is even worse if it happens and you have no skill to assist in resuscitation. Resuscitation helps provide impulses that could allow the heart to beat artificially thus allowing blood to keep on flowing to other parts of the body.

A sudden cardiac arrest deprives the body tissues of blood meaning they are likely to die. This could cause death if nothing is done about it. Only about 8 percent of patients who have been attacked by circulatory arrest in areas out of hospitals can survive. This means that a large percent of those people will not survive.

It can occur at home, in your workplace, in a shopping center, or even when you are travelling in public means. You would better be a hero by giving another person a chance to survive than painfully watch an individual attacked by cardiac arrest lose his or her life. You need to make the right decision by taking this course through online CPR programs or physical classes.
