How You Can Make Yourself A Hero By Saving Life Through Online CPR Certification

By Leslie Ball

When the heart fails to contract in order to pump blood, it means that body tissues are deprived of oxygen and nutrients and they begin to die. When it happens to the brain, it can result to death. An online CPR certification provides you with an important skill to help save lives in patients attacked by cardiac arrest. The time taken by medics to arrive in a scene where a patient has been attacked by a cardiac arrest is quite little.

In a pulmonary arrest, there is very small time left for one to survive and the initial minutes are critical in saving life. If something is done right way without hesitating to try and save the life, it could help greatly. While the paramedics and ambulances may arrive in a scene of cardiac arrest within 8 to 12 minutes, it is not enough to keep one holding for life.

Considering that many people still lose their lives from circulatory arrest, it would be crucial for people to learn how to save lives through first aid procedures like cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Cardiac arrest is a sudden stop in the effective flow of blood often caused by the failure of heart to pump blood. It occurs when the heart does not contract effectively to be able to pump blood.

The worst part about it is if it comes when you have not learned the skill of resuscitation and you are the only one around. This becomes very painful because you will lose the life of person as you watch helplessly. It is better to do something and this can only happen when you have taken the course.

Statistics indicate that majority of people called to offer resuscitation in an emergency, it is most likely they are doing it for a person at home whether is it a parent, child, spouse, or friend. Therefore, when you have this skill, you will help your close or loved person if you will ever do it. Often, people make the mistake of taking the course to only improve their CV but this is not the intention of such training.

Many people have died before reaching hospitals and health facilities because they did not get this much-needed first aid. It does not take you years to learn this simple live saving step. Besides, you do not have to resuscitate a person so that you see the benefits of learning CPR. You can use your certification and skill to guard yourself and other people who may find themselves in a pulmonary arrest situation.

Learning how to respond to emergencies is something important. About 92 percent of patients do not survive because they never make it to hospital after being attacked by cardiac arrest. This is a big number of lives lost and it is astonishing that there is something that can be done by people but they do not seem to take the necessary steps to get prepared. You can only save a life if you have acquired some essential first aid skill like the CPR.

It may also occur because they trained long time and the skill has elapsed in their mind. When you take too long without practicing the skill, you are more likely to forget the basics and when confronted with situation needing resuscitation, you might not be able to offer it. There is need to consider retraining or refreshing yourself after every few years so that you remain updated of the procedures.
