Portland Trailblazers, Brandon Roy Agree To Contract Extension

By Ross Everett

After extensive negotiations, the Portland Trailblazers have signed All Star shooting guard Brandon Roy to a five year contract extension. Roy will be in the final year of his rookie contract in the 2009-2010 NBA season, and securing the services of a player that did no less than turn around the franchise was the teams top summer priority.

Brandon Roy may have saved the Portland NBA franchise thanks to his on-court talent and off the court class. The Blazers slumped from their glory years of the 1970's and 1980's as the 1990's progressed, eventually pulling together a roster consisting of character challenged reprobates that earned the moniker JailBlazers for their frequent legal transgressions.

With the Blazers fans staying away from the arena in droves, owner Paul Allen finally had enough and cleaned house. The new management was given the challenge to put together a roster that would not only win games, but win back the Rose City fans. The acquisition of Roy will likely be looked at as the turning point for this effort. The Blazers acquired Roy on draft day 2006 for Randy Foye, and would go on to win the NBAs rookie of the year award.

Since that point, Roy has become the face of the franchise. The Blazers"who were 21-61 the year before Roy arrived"posted a 54-28 record last season. Roy has become the centerpiece of a talented young team had has not only become a force in the NBAs Western Conference but has gone a long way to winning back the Portland fan base. The current crop of Blazers is more likely to be found in the aisles at Home Depot or at Starbucks than in the police blotter, and the team seldom puts forth a substandard effort on the court.

Roys agent Bob Myers strongly suggested that Roy wanted to remain with the Blazers for his entire career, noting that he "is one of the unique players to have a chance to have that sort of relationship with one team."

The Blazers now turn their attention to working out a long term deal with power forward LaMarcus Aldridge. Like Roy, Aldridge is in the final year of his rookie contract and a key component to the teams recent success. At last report, talks between the two sides are progressing.

Legal Movie Downloads Have No Spyware Or Virus Issues

By Mandy Dejesus

There are movie download services that you can use and legally get movie downloads. They may charge you a slight subscription fee, but when you figure out how much money you can save they are well worth the cost.

Most of these movie download services will charge you a monthly fee and you can get unlimited movie downloads, and movie rentals. Which if you watch a lot of movies you will be paying very little for each movie that you watch online or rent.

Movie download services can be found all over the internet, but you should compare many of them. Try and find the one that gives you unlimited movie downloads and movie rentals. That way if you're an avid movie buff, you will be paying even less per movie.

If you don't have the right codec for the download site you select, one will be provided for you. This helps the website control the distribution of their products.

However, you may not have to worry about that depending on what kind of programs are on your computer. Newer computers may have the right software installed already.

You can also choose to use a movie download rental service. These are usually streaming videos that you won't store anywhere. Even Netflix is offering this type of service now.

Another great thing about movie download services is that if you're not sure you'd like a movie or not, you're not really wasting a lot of money. It use to be you had to rent the movie for $4 or so, or buy it for who knows how much. Now if you don't like the movie your watching you stop it and watch another movie online.

Or do you want to buy online movies to add to your growing collection of DVDs you have at home? Why not watch movies online first, and then decide whether you want to buy it?

Movie download services are so easy to use, that you will find you want to watch more movies than ever before. Plus if you have a newer TV you can connect your computer and TV, allowing those movie downloads to be watched by everyone.

The beauty of using movie download services like this is that you will not risk any money trying a movie that you might like but aren't sure. You can give any hopeful title a try and not feel like you are wasting money.

Finally, movie download services are well worth a try. See if you can even find a trial period for one and use it. You will see that this new way of watching movies online is far superior to any other choice. Remember that you can hook up your TV and computer in many cases and enjoy movies online together.

Spending In Second Life

By Josue Habana

Second Life is a well known virtual world in which every single item of content is created and designed from scratch by the residents, or users of the platform. However, Second Life is simply miles ahead of the competition for one main reason. It has a booming virtual economy. Even as the real world struggled with global recession, Second Life residents continued to spend their 'Linden dollars,' and 2009 was a record year. Residents spent the equivalent of 567 million US dollars in Second Life.

Second Life has its own currency, known as the Linden Dollar. Residents can buy Linden dollars using real world currencies and spend them in world. By the same token, Linden Dollars you have can be cashed out into real world currencies, meaning that Second Life has fast become a genuine means of a very real income for a number of talented designers.

But what on Earth are Second Life residents actually buying with their Linden Dollars? Well one of the biggest purchases for many is that of virtual land, which can be a place to house a shop to sell your items, a club or venue to host events or even just a virtual home, kitted out with a house and furnishings. There's also big money being spent on avatar appearances. It seems the Second Life users are keen that their characters look the part with thousands of residents shelling out on skins, Second Life clothing and virtual hairstyles.

There's also no shortage of cash spent on services in world. These services might include marketing services to enlist the help of specialists in marketing your own products or even on a live musician or comedian to perform at an event at one of the many clubs or live performance venues within Second Life.

It can be difficult for those who have never used Second Life to comprehend how others can spend money on items that do not really have a physical existence. But the Second Life economy is very real and is a genuine income for so many. And for those who really don't get it, I simply ask, do you pay for your Internet connection? Because you can't physically touch that either...

Baltimore Beats Atlanta To Complete Undefeated NFL Preseason

By Ross Everett

Even when the games don't count and the starters play little, if at all, the Baltimore Ravens hate to lose. The Ravens third string signal caller John Beck played the entire game, and the former BYU standout threw for 232 yards and a pair of touchdown passes as the Ravens easily beat the Atlanta Falcons 20-3 at the Georgia Dome. The victory gave the Ravens an undefeated NFL preseason mark at 4-0, while the Falcons finished the exhibition campaign with a 2-2 record.

Sports enthusiasts who bet on NFL preseason action were rewarded for their investment in the Ravens, as Baltimore won outright as +3 road underdogs. Baltimore also finished the NFL preseason with a perfect 4-0 mark against the spread, while Atlanta finished 2-1-1 against the number. The 23 combined points went UNDER the posted total of 35. It was the Ravens third UNDER in four preseason games, while the Falcons split their O/U results at 2-2.

Ravens QB Beck hasnt had much playing time in the NFL since his ill fated rookie year in Miami in 2007. After the game, he expressed how pleased he was to showcase his skills for the entire game:

"He (coach John Harbaugh) told me a few days ago that I would play the whole game. It was very exciting to get to play the whole game."

Beck made the most of his opportunity, finishing with 232 yards on 16 of 28 passing and a pair of touchdowns with no interceptions. The Ravens defensive reserves did their part by holding the Falcons to just 175 yards of total offense.

Despite the loss, Falcons coach Mike Smith was nonplussed:

"You've got to understand in these games, you're going to call things defensively and offensively to put players in certain situations to evaluate them. You're not game-planning in a game like this. You're going to put players in certain situations to see how they handle certain techniques and coverages."

Falcon cornerback Chris Houston was a little more concerned:

"We've got to work on everybody getting to the ball. We've got to try to be more aggressive in our techniques. We made some plays tonight, but other than that, we still have a lot to work on as a defense."

The Ravens will get the 2009 NFL regular season underway at home, hosting the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, September 13th. The Falcons, meanwhile, will welcome the Miami Dolphins to the Georgia Dome to get their campaign started.

Deciding Which Golf GPS Units Available Today Are Best

By Max Pigford

It was only a matter of time until golf GPS units hit the courses of the United States and other parts of the world. After all, golfers love gadgets, tend to be fanatical, are always looking for an edge, spend a lot of time replaying the game in the clubhouse, and receive a lot of golf-related gifts.

All the units and down loadable programs provide access to tens of thousands of courses in the US. It is simple to make an online visit to the manufacturers site to ensure that your favorite courses are in a unit's database before choosing it. Some units also tell you how far you are from a listed course, which can be useful information if you are thinking about visiting.

The screen display of many devices gives the par for each hole, score is kept and scorecards can be saved, and touch screens are now common. There are mounts to attach a handeld GPS to the golf cart, if the player prefers not to carry it. Screens are in color, with large characters to make reading distances and the menu items easy, and brightness is one of the competitive features.

A feature that is found on all units is a list of golf courses in the United States, stored in the unit and able to be expanded or updated online using a USB connection. It is easy to check online to make sure a device you are interested in lists your local courses and the ones you regularly play on vacation. Some units will tell you how far listed courses are from your current location, which would be helpful when deciding whether to accept invitations from golfing buddies.

Advantages of using a guidance program while playing golf include previewing the course, measuring the fairways and plotting the hazards. You can also select the perfect club after getting precise distances, keep score, and save both scorecard and length of shot information. Course maps reveal details of the landscape that are not always visible from where you stand, such as the direction a stream turns or the shape of a bunker.

Going over the day hole by hole over a drink later in the Clubhouse is easy with all the data saved in your golf guidance device, as well as backing up a story of either a spell in the rough or a hole-in-one. You can also rethink club choice or check on the par for each hole when you use the distance measurements, the past result data, or the course statistics stored in your GPS.

Golf GPS units have many features such as touch screens, ease of accessing menus and tools, fees, or free add-ons that you will want to check out as you compare the different models and types on the market.

Saints Upset Colts In Superbowl Thriller

By Ross Everett

The New Orleans Saints used a 14 point fourth quarter to defeat the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 on Sunday to win their first Superbowl in franchise history. Drew Brees broke open a tight game midway through the final quarter with his touchdown pass to Jeremy Shockey, and Tracy Porter scored on a 74 yard interception return as the Colts were driving on the next series to secure the victory. Brees was named Superbowl MVP on the basis of his 288 yard, 2 touchdown, 0 interception performance. He completed 32 passes in the game, tying New England's Tom Brady for the all time record in that category.

After enthusiasts had come in early on the favored Colts, a good deal of buyback on the Saints had pushed the line to -4' and the New Orleans backers were enriched by their team's outright victory. The underdog has now covered three straight Superbowls and taken the money in five of the last seven games. The 48 points scored stayed well under the posted total of 57, which was the highest over/under number in Superbowl history.

In his postgame interview, Brees gave much of the credit to the city of New Orleans:

"We play for so much more than ourselves. We played for our city. We played for the entire Gulf Coast region. We played for the entire Who Dat nation that has been behind us every step of the way. It means everything. We're here because of their strength and everything they fought through here the last few years. They've given us so much support, so we owe it all to our fans."

"Just to think of the road we've all traveled, the adversity we've all faced. It's unbelievable. I mean, are you kidding me? Four years ago, whoever thought this would be happening? Eighty-five percent of the city was under water. Most people left not knowing if New Orleans would ever come back, or if the organization would ever come back. We just all looked at one another and said, 'We're going to rebuild together. We are going to lean on each other.' That's what we've done the last four years and this is the culmination in all that belief."

Peyton Manning had little to say after the game particularly about the interception return that sealed the victory for New Orleans:

"Made a great play. Made a great play. Corner made a heck of a play. Certainly disappointing, very disappointing. Disappointing."

Saints' coach Sean Payton made a bold call at the beginning of the second half when he called for an onside kick. New Orleans recovered and linebacker Jonathan Casalis suggested it was a game changing play:

"We were really excited when he made the call. That changed everything."

Payton explained the unorthodox decision:

"We're going to be aggressive. We'd seen the onside kick all week and guys executed it well. It turned out to be a big change of possession."

The city of New Orleans will celebrate their team's victory with a parade. With Mardi Gras celebrations already scheduled to begin shortly thereafter, it could be quite some time before New Orleans returns to business as usual.

See Showtime's New TV Hit Series Weeds

By Alexis Snow

For the last ten years, there's been a defining trend in fictional television: Realism. It started with reality television and influenced fictional television before long like Sopranos, and Weeds is definitely one of the funniest in this trend, and certainly belongs on your downloads queue the next time you pay a visit to your tv and movie download service.

It began with reality television. See, for a time, fictional television had just plain gotten too darn formulaic. It always felt like you were just watching mindless television. It always came down to the same characters: The wacky neighbors, the football loving dads and their football widows, stories about the kid borrowing the car without asking and so on, and... It was just really predictable.

So, while reality TV may be, at times, crass and artless, and not to mention, they often rearrange events with editing to make situations seem more dramatic than they really were, the fact remains that they had some appeal in their unpredictability and real human situations which stole a lot of viewers away from the fictional television shows which were really not offering anything new, and really hadn't since Seinfeld and Drew Carey went off the air.

The first show to adapt and survive in this new television climate was The Sopranos. Twenty years ago, it could have just been some mafia show. See, in Goodfellas, the characters worry about the business, but on The Sopranos, the characters worry about business as well as family, personal finances, their relations with their friends, sex, health, psychological well being and so on. You know, everything we have to worry about in real life.

Weeds follows the same trend and utilizes a great concept: Suburban single mom runs a massive marijuana selling empire. You get an equal mix of great stoner humor, crime storytelling and family drama, and it's always funny.

The show is really defined by some great characters. The Candyman is one of the best. She's actually a female character, codenamed the Candyman. She runs a bakery that specializes in marijuana goodies. She's also a fitness nut, refusing to sell to anyone who doesn't promise to exercise and burn off the extra calories provided by her brownies and cupcakes.

The show follows two primary plot threads: One following the mother's journey in building her criminal empire, and one following her family issues and the local gossip. Watching how the two stories affect one another is always worth a laugh.

Be warned that the show is quite addictive. Each season is really designed as a self contained story, as opposed to each episode, so when you watch one, you'll want to watch the next one right away. Make sure to download a whole season at a time if you really want to enjoy the series. Just be ready to set a few hours aside whenever you want to sit down and watch.

Chargers' To Play Without Tomlinson This Weekend

By Ross Everett

LaDanian Tomlinson is still not fully recovered from a sprained right ankle, and as a result hell miss his second consecutive NFL regular season game this Sunday as the Chargers host the Miami Dolphins. Tomlinson was hurt in the San Diego Chargers season opening victory over the Oakland Raiders and didn't play last week.

After playing in eight consecutive regular season games last year, the superstar running back has missed three of the Chargers last four games. Most significant was last January, when a groin injury kept LT out of the Chargers AFC playoff loss to the eventual Superbowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers.

When asked about his injury, Tomlinson refused comment:

"I don't have a comment about it. It is what it is."

Until his recent bouts with injury, Tomlinson had been one of the most durable running backs in the league. Prior to last season, the only start hed missed in his career was the season finale in 2004 when then-coach Marty Schottenheimer rested Tomlinson and other starters in advance of the NFL playoffs.

While Tomlinson himself was tight lipped, his coach Norv Turner spoke about his injury:

"It's hard because you'd like to have all your guys. It's crazy, because on Sept. 1, when people were asking me what I thought about camp, I said it was great that we were healthy and had all our guys, because that's something we haven't had in a while.

"I think we're doing the right thing with L.T. Obviously he couldn't play this week, you know, but he's getting better and hopefully he'll be able to go next week. if not, he'll be ready to go when the bye's over."

The Chargers also have a half dozen players listed as questionable due to flu like symptoms. Turner spoke about their prognosis:

"I think we're beyond the guys who had it. I obviously have a concern that they're not too drained, but I think we have a couple days to get them back. My concern is what's going to pop up tomorrow morning or Sunday morning because obviously it's going through the building."

Darren Sproles started in LTs place last week, and has performed well this season. Hes not as powerful a back as Tomlinson, but is a heady player who uses his speed and elusiveness to pick up yardage.

The Chargers are a -6 home favorite against the Miami Dolphins this Sunday, with the total set at 44. The first half line on the game is San Diego -3 with the total set at 21. San Diego will travel to the Steel City of Pittsburgh next Sunday to face the Superbowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers, and then enjoy a much needed bye week. Theyll return to action on Monday, November 19th hosting the Denver Broncos.

Find Fast Movie Downloading

By Eva Fischer

Have you watched any movies on your PC lately? What is the best way to download movies? Let's explore a few options if you don't have a DVD drive installed onto your computer. With the new technology, this is normally the case only in older computers, but may be the case if you chose not to include one in your new PC.

If your older computer does not have one of these drives, there are plenty of other ways to watch your movies. Movies can be downloaded on demand from several different sites on the Internet. Keep in mind that they may or may not be illegal sources of the shows, but that does not mean you cannot access them. Usually, everything you need in software form is already pre-installed on your laptop or desktop.

User-fed sites are one of the questionable sources out there. Of course, one of the worries about using them is the possibility of downloading a virus. These can sometimes be disastrous in the harm of your computer and pocketbook. I have included the source option in this list just to cover all the bases. And most often, you must agree to hold harmless the host site before you are able to complete any downloading. This prevents anyone pursuing them for damages if and when they acquire a virus that causes extensive damage to their equipment.

In today's changing markets, companies are changing the way they offer services. Blockbuster has updated with the times and begun to offer Internet and express mail movie subscriptions. By subscribing to their service, you are assigned the movie for a pre-arranged amount of time, and you don't have to be concerned with possibly crashing your drives after receiving a virus by mistake.

Other companies have started out online and continue to grow with their subscription service. An example of this is Netflix and they are growing their subscriber list every day. The convenience they offer, along with a quality service, allows their customers to watch movies whenever they please, both on their computers and TVs.

Some sites offer movies that you can watch just by streaming them. These do not require any downloads and the only product you need is a viable video player. Windows Media Player is usually all you need, but there may be some cases when better software would be desired. Users upload these movies to the site and share them with others.

While there are no real rules to watching these movies, you'll notice I'm sure that some are pirated and some are not. Once these have been tagged as pirate movies, they are quickly removed. However, the danger of a virus is slightly removed, because there is not a download option.

My recommendation to download movies would be to subscribe to a service like Blockbuster or Netflix. This prevents any future problems regarding virus contamination of your drives, or legal issues such as pirated movies, possession of stolen material, etc. Often too, you can get subscription rewards when these companies give benefits to their customers.

A Short Review Of Tetsuo The Iron Man

By Karyn Rojas

Tetsuo Iron Man was the debut film from Japanese madman director Shinya Tsukamoto. Even if you don't like reading subtitles, put it on your queue next time you log into your movie download service anyways. It's NOT that kind of foreign film. It's practically a silent film, because it's really just all action, special effects and weirdness, with very little dialog.

The movie focuses on a Japanese salary man who suddenly starts sprouting pieces of scrap metal from his body one day. It's very much in the same category as Japanese surrealist authors like Kobo Abe, where weird things just suddenly start happening for no real reason in particular. It kind of drives home the point that... Life is weird and unpredictable, and there's really no inherent meaning to it all so... Just enjoy the long strange trip for what it is.

Tsukamoto made the film around the idea of a monster flick with a human sized monster. So imagine Godzilla if Godzilla were only five foot eight. It's not exactly like that, but it's very similar. The film has two monsters doing battle: The salary man after his transformation, and Tetsuo, played by Shinya Tsukamoto himself. Both do battle as these metallic monsters, having a final show down in a junkyard on the outskirts of Tokyo.

This is the movie people point to when they talk about Japanese cyberpunk, which has always been more focused on the imagery of industrial machinery, steam, sparks and electricity than on the relations between man and computers. If you want to see more of this genre, you should also check out Electric Dragon 80000v and Burst City, which are considered two classics in this genre.

The movie is incredibly fast paced, and it's even a little confusing, but that's sort of the point. The movie also has a great look to it, with stark, high contrast black and white really driving home the nightmarish atmosphere of the film's setting. It really results in a strange look and a strange feel. The movie feels much more like a bad dream than it does like events happening in real life.

The movie primarily draws influence from Eraserhead and Cronenberg's Videodrome. A warning, if those movies made you squeamish, this one will, too.

Tsukamoto would later go on to create a number of incredible films, including Tokyo Fist and Bullet Ballet, and a sequel to the original Tetsuo, called Tetsuo: Body Hammer. He's now working on a third in the series, Tetsuo: The Bulletman. All of his films focus on some similar themes regarding violence, sexuality and the male ego. If you like Tetsuo Iron Man, check out Tokyo Fist, which similarly deals with the concept of rage as a component of transformation.

Tsukamoto has also developed into an interesting actor, mainly taking small parts in films by Takashi Miike, who has a similarly strange approach to filmmaking. Tsukamoto's career is definitely one to keep tabs on, as it's clear that, two decades after his debut, he's just getting started and still has plenty more surprises up his sleeves.

Habs Rip Struggling Islanders

By Ross Everett

The Montreal Canadiens have gotten off to a slow start this season, and entered Thursday night's game against the New York Islanders having gone thirteen games without a win in regulation dating back to last season. Apparently, all they needed to cure their ails was a team that was struggling more than they are. The Islanders only have one win on the season, and the Habs jumped on them early scoring three goals in the first two periods en route to a 5-1 victory at the Bell Centre. Montreal improved to 4-5-0 with the victory while the Islanders dropped to 1-4-3.

NHL hockey betting devotees who weren't scared away by the -180 home favorite price tag on Montreal cashed their tickets with the Canadiens' big win. It was the sixth win for the Habs in their last eight meetings with the Islanders. The six goals scored just managed to go OVER the posted total of 5'. The Canadiens went OVER for only the fourth time in nine games, while the Islanders have gone OVER in five of their nine contests.

The sputtering Montreal offense finally woke up, helped by a 43-22 shots on goal advantage. When Montreal opened a 2-0 lead in the first period it marked the first time this season that they'd led by more than a goal, a fact that surprised left winger Mike Cammalleri:

"We're making it hard on ourselves. That's something -- I didn't realize that until right now but that makes sense. Every game's been so tight, and it's important to try and win in tight games and find ways to win those games but at the same time you can't do that 82 times a year and then however many games in the playoffs, so it was important to get out to a little bit of a lead and hang on to one tonight."

Montreal goaltender Jaroslav Halek played well in relief of starter Carey Price, but lost his shutout bid when he misplayed a puck just seconds into the final period. Cammalleri described a conversation he had with Halek after the game:

"After the game I went to give him a hug and he said, 'I don't like shutouts. And I said, 'Well, you better like shutouts!' But he played great when we needed him tonight, made some solid saves, and we'll let that one go."

Islanders' coach Scott Gordon admitted that his team's listless play made it easy for the Habs' to dominate:

"We were a pretty easy team to play against. Defensively we were on our heels because of all our turnovers and it wasn't just in one area, it was coming out of our zone, it was situations where we had full control of the puck and we're not making plays. It's probably the worst that I've ever seen it tonight and it's something that we've got to get better at."

Montreal plays their next two games at home, hosting the New York Rangers on Saturday night and welcoming the Islanders back to the Bell Centre for another game next Monday night. They'll then head to Pittsburgh for a game against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Penguins on Wednesday. The Islanders have a Saturday night home game against the Washington Capitals before their return engagement with Montreal.

Golf Shoes Are An Important Part Of Your Golf Game

By Arnold Woods

All of us love golf and it is actually considered to be one of the most popular sports in the developed countries such as the United States, Canada and so on. It is also not an incident that golf is also called the "sport of the rich".

Anyway, there is something which you probably know about the golf as a sport. It is that the better your equipment is, the more chances of playing well you have. Yes, it sounds amazing but the golf equipment is quite serious and expensive. Basically, it includes a countless number of sticks for long-distanced balls, putting etc; a golf bag; and of course golf shoes. How could we skip the shoes for golf since they are considered to be the most important piece of the golf equipment!

You do not need to be an experienced golf player so that you know that golf shoes are of huge significance for every second of your game- from the beginning to the end. A good pair of shoes will give you the support which you need while hitting the ball but it will also be comfortable because, after all, golf is a sport which involves a lot of walking- sometimes, more than a couple of kilometers.

But how could a bad pair of shoes for golf result in a bad game? It is a question which you are probably asking yourself but it is much simpler than you probably think. If your shoes are of low-quality and not good, you will certainly feel discomfort when hitting the ball. And walking from a hole to the next one will be a real nightmare for you because the shoes will not be even comfortable to wear. Painful feet are the last thing you want after a golf game, right? Then, you should be very careful when picking up your golf shoes.

And now, you probably would like to learn a good method for distinguishing the good-quality from the bad-quality golf shoes. Well, risking disappointing you, that remains the price. Just remember that if you would like to have nice shoes for golf, you should not spend less than $200 but $300 would be even better.

So, if you do not want to experience the feeling of painful feet and end up in a situation in which you cannot take more than 2 steps on your own, you'd best listen to the advice and get only quality shoes for golf. In this case, the price should not matter.

Panthers Derail Struggling Buccaneers

By Ross Everett

Carolina Panthers' quarterback Jake Delhomme struggled on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and was fortunate that his running backs bailed him out. Delhomme threw for only 65 yards with two interceptions, but D'Angelo Williams (152 yards) and Jonathan Stewart (110 yards) kept the chains moving as the Panthers won their second straight game defeating the Bucs 28-21. Tampa Bay has now lost ten straight dating back to last season and are 0-6 for the first time since'85. The fact that they ended up starting that year 0-9 on their way to a 1-15 record doesn't bode well for the rest of the season. Carolina improved to 2-3 with the victory.

NFL sports bettors were faced with a choice between two teams with dismal ATS records in this game, and those who had the guts to take a 1-3 team as a -3 road favorite were rewarded with the cover. It was Carolina's first NFL pointspread cover of the season and left them with a 1-4 record against the number. Tampa Bay has covered one of their six games this year. The 49 points scored went OVER the total of 40'.

Delhomme attempted only seven passes in the second half, but the way Williams and Stewart were running there was no reason to put the ball in the air. Williams said that even though Tampa Bay knew what was coming they couldn't stop the Panthers' running game:

"I'm sure everybody in the stadium knew what we were going to do. There were times they had nine in the box and we were still getting 7 or 8 yards."

There's been little impatience locally with Bucs' rookie head coach Raheem Morris, but his weekly habit of explaining the obvious to rationalize yet another loss is starting to wear thin:

"We got overpowered at the end, and really throughout the game."

Carolina safety Dante Wesley was ejected after clobbering Bucs' return man Clifton Smith after a fair catch call. After the game, Wesley gave this defense for his actions:

"I was just trying to make a play. You can check my record. I've never really tried to hurt anybody. I've never tried to take a cheap shot on anybody."

Wesley could face a possible fine or suspension from the NFL but, in all fairness, it did appear to be a momentary mental lapse as he was trying to make a big play and not a deliberate attempt to injure Smith.

Tampa's schedule has the look of them going from 'the frying pan into the fire' as they host the New England Patriots next Sunday-fresh off of their 57 point drubbing of Tennessee. The Bucs are +14 home underdogs to the Patriots with the total set at 45. They'll get a week off after that contest and return to action on November 8 as they host the Green Bay Packers. Carolina has an easier draw, hosting the Buffalo Bills next Sunday.

The Green Tourism Phenomenon

By Anna Nadette

Everything is going green in this day and age. Even in the tourism sector a concept such as Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) has evolved. Having over 700 members already it awards a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award to the components of the HoReCa industry depending on the level of energy efficiency they have achieved each is.

The members in this Scheme make sure that the business does not impact the environment in a less positive way. They employ various tools to achieve this objective. These can range from using energy saving light bulbs to talking walks in the wildlife and hiring cycling services for tourists to move around the town.

Everything including heating, lighting, food, and transportation is available at the GTBS accommodations. So you will find the whole range of services that any HoReCa industry offers. And not in any less compromised way.

The need for green tourism was felt when the tourist became selective of their choices due to environmental concerns. This trend was due to the growing popularity of topics such as climatic changes, destruction to wildlife, carbon emissions, and waste management. So to meet up to this challenge the concept of an earth friendly tourism was evolved.

You need a long term commitment with this concept so you need a strategy. This strategy ensures better coordination with all the stakeholders that form this industry. Without a comprehensive strategy that synergizes individual efforts, we may fall short to provide a sustainable development.

This strategy is multi-fold. We start by assessing the existing environmental health. This gives us a holistic view of the kind of green management that is required. We outline the support structures that would be needed in the future for this policy's implementation.

Second, we build a green vision. This serves as a guiding principle. Different scenarios in which different decisions would have trade-offs with different environmental impacts are viewed.

Last but not the least; the vision has to be achieved. This cannot be done without the involvement from the government, the civil society and the private sector. A comprehensive regulatory body that has representatives from all these stakeholders should be set up only then can a call for such a transformation can take place.

UFC 94 Flashback: GSP Destroys BJ Penn

By Ross Everett

Reigning lightweight champ BJ Penn entered his main event battle against welterweight kingpin Georges St. Pierre looking to become the first man in UFC history to simultaneously hold titles in two weight classes. GSP never gave him the chance to make history, as he stopped Penn after four increasingly dominant rounds to retain his belt with a TKO victory.

Both fighters had considerable fan support, with vocal, flag waving delegations from the Hawaiian Islands and Canada in evidence. During ring introductions, both men received enthusiastic cheers tempered with a few boos. After the opening horn sounded, however, the Penn backers had little to cheer about while the champions supports broke out in G-S-P chants on several occasions.

Boxing guru Freddy Roach recently praised Penn as the best technical puncher in MMA, but he had no opportunity to bring this weapon to bear as he had trouble finding the range from the outset. GSP mixed up his look perfectly, either staying just outside Penns range using his 6 reach advantage effectively or more often smothering his opponent on takedown attempts.

GSP began to assert his dominance in round two. He got a takedown early in the frame and began to mount a ground and pound assault while moving around in Penns legendary guard with frightening ease. At this point, it was apparent that GSPs superior strength and insane physical conditioning were going to figure prominently in the outcome of the fight.

The eventual outcome was foretold between rounds two and three, as the obviously exhausted Penn required a pep talk from his entourage that his fatigue was all in his head. Across the cage, GSP calmly sipped water looking for all the world that he could go 12 rounds.

Round three was similar to the previous one, with GSP taking his opponent to the mat with a decreasing level of resistance and mauling him with punches and elbows once he got there. His complete control over the BJJ black belt Penn was incredible, but hardly surprising given the way that GSP dominated four time NCAA All American wrestler Josh Koscheck on the ground during their matchup.

The fourth round was a wall to wall rout for the Canadian welterweight champion, who started by effectively trading strikes with Penn before taking him down once again and resuming his highly successful ground based attack. At this point with GSP moving around at ease and Penn mounting little resistance it was apparent that the challenger was physically spent. St. Pierre almost ended the fight on the ground, as referee Herb Dean repeatedly reminding Penn that he needs to fight back. Penn survived the round on instinct alone, moving around just enough to keep the referee from stopping the proceedings. After the horn sounded to end the fourth round, however, it was evident that Penn had nothing physically or emotionally left. As he leaned headfirst against the cage in exhaustion, an impromptu conference amongst his handlers on whether or not to continue became moot when the fight was stopped by Dean on advice from the ringside physician. There was no argument whatsoever from Penn or his entourage.

Displaying his characteristic class, GSP delayed his celebration until he had crossed the cage and kneeled by his vanquished foe to honor his competitive spirit. After a quick celebration among GSP and his team, he faced his next challenger in the person of Thiago Alves. While clearly brought into the cage to start the fight promotion early, Alves appeared somewhat in awe as he congratulated the welterweight champion on his victory.

In the co-feature attraction, Lyoto Machida kept his undefeated professional MMA record intact with a first round TKO victory over Thiago Silva. Silva had no answer for Machidas well rounded skills and unorthodox Shotokan karate based style. Machida may be the best in the world at fighting while backing up, and Silva found his aggressive style working against him. Machida took his opponent down and knocked his opponent down twice"all counters as Silva was coming forward and Machida backing away. As the first round entered its final seconds, it appeared that Silva started to ease up in anticipation of the horn. Machida used this opportunity for another takedown, and then nailed his surprised opponent with a powerful punch that ended the fight.

Guide To Tipping Practices Around The World

By Adriana Noton

If you are an avid world traveler or are planning to take a trip to another country, one part of the trip that can be confusing is how much should be given as a 'tip.' It can be confusing figuring out how much of a tip to give for good service and you also want to make sure that you don't end up leaving a big tip for bad service, especially when considering the foreign exchange. To help you figure out the best tipping practices, the following is a guide to tipping around the world.

Canada: When visiting Canada, it is suitable to leave a tip of 15 - 20 percent at a restaurant, 10 - 20 percent at a bar, and 10 - 20 per cent for taxi drivers. At establishments such as coffee shops, there is normally a tip jar by the cash register where customers can drop a few coins in the jar. For hotels, it is appropriate to tip maids at $1 - $2 per day, the concierge a small amount at check out, and room service at about 15%.

United States: When visiting the US, it is appropriate to leave 20% at restaurants, 20% at bars, pocket change at a cashier tip jar, and at a take out restaurant, between $2 and $5. For taxi drivers, it is standard to leave $2 for a $5- fare and $3 for a $10- fare. Any higher taxi fare, the tip is about 20%. For hotels, tipping is as follows: maids: $5 to $10/night, room service: about $20%, and concierge: $10 for making any arrangements such as reservations, and $5 for providing information.

Mexico: For restaurants in Mexico, sometimes the bill includes the tip. If it does not include the tip, 10% - 15% is appropriate. At a bar, 10% of the total or $1 to $2 per round of drinks is suitable. For hotels, tips include: bellmen $1-$2 per bag, concierge $5 - $10 for making arrangements, maid $3 - $5 per day, valet $1 - $2, and a taxi driver is about a few dollars.

Caribbean: For all inclusive resorts and hotels, the price will include the tip. For restaurants, it is about 10%, and bars about 15% of the total bill or $1 per drink. For taxi drivers, tipping is about $1 - $2 and more for holidays, Sundays, and late night fares. For hotels, maids are about $2 per day, valets are a few dollars, and bellmen are about $1-$2 per bag.

Europe: Many European countries do not expect tips. In France, a service charge is included, however, for really good service, it is suitable to add a 10 -15% tip. As well, it is fine to leave change at a caf. In the UK and Ireland, a service charge will be included at hotels and restaurants, however, for really great service, you can add 10%. In the UK and Ireland, people do not tip in pubs. Tipping is not expected in Germany, Portugal, Italy, and Spain; however, 10% can be added for great service. For taxi drivers, it is appropriate to tip about 10%. For European hotels, it is suitable to tip two Euros for maids and porters.

Every country has its own criteria regarding tipping. It is always helpful and prevents misunderstandings when you know what to tip so that you can have a relaxing and fun vacation. Remember, the people waiting on you work hard, and the tip you provide will likely help their family.

Buying Used Woodworking Equipment For Dummies

By Ted Mcgrath

Have you been working as a woodworking craftsman for ages or have you started recently? Whether you're an experienced craftsman or a total rookie you might want to save some money and you can do it buy purchasing used woodworking equipment instead of new tools. It's possible to save plenty of money but it's important to choose the right equipment and to buy the things from the right place.

Who to buy used tools from

It's definitely a good idea to try to save some money by purchasing used woodworking equipment but it's also important to not buy the first used tools you can find. You will be able to find plenty of sellers on the net and you will also be able to meet many sellers if you start visiting flea markets, but you should keep in mind that some used woodworking equipment can be a waste of money instead of a good investment.

It's a big difference between the tools you need if you have the woodworking craft as a profession and the tools you need if you just have woodworking as a hobby. You need to be extra careful if you're a craftsman who has this as a profession. You can't afford to buy worthless tools that can't be used for your woodworking projects and that's why you should only buy your used woodworking equipment from shops who sells used items as a profession. They will be able to meet your demands and you will get what you need and look for. Everyone will be happy with such a deal since you will save money and they will make money.

How old tools can I buy

You might wonder how old tools you can buy without getting worthless equipment. The age doesn't really matter since some machines and tools can be reconditioned. This means the motor might be replaced and that will make an old machine almost as good as a new one. It's not a good idea to buy a 15 year old machine with the original motor left in it though. That means you will throw away your money and that's probably the last thing you want.

Try to find some used woodworking equipment that will be yours for a low cost. Don't stare yourself blind at the price though, the quality is the most important thing after all and that's what you should focus on.

NFL Flashback: Saints Beat Vikings To Advance To Superbowl

By Ross Everett

Until Sunday, it looked as if the return of Brett Favre to the NFL would have a storybook ending and propel the Minnesota Vikings to the Superbowl. Instead, the New Orleans Saints will be heading to the Superbowl for the first time in franchise history. Garrett Hartley nailed a 40 yard field goal in overtime to give the Saints a 31-28 victory in the NFC Championship game after Brett Favre was intercepted deep in Saints territory during the final seconds of regulation. Favre may be headed back to retirement, while the Saints are headed to Miami to play the biggest game of them all.

The Vikings did reward NFL betting fans who took them as +4 underdogs with a pointspread cover. Minnesota finished the season a solid 11-6-1 against the NFL pointspread. The 59 combined points scored went OVER the posted total of 53'. The Saints went OVER for the second consecutive game after playing four straight UNDER verdicts to close out the regular season.

After the game, head coach Sean Payton drew an analogy to the city of New Orleans' recovery after Hurricane Katrina:

"This is for everybody in this city. This stadium used to have holes in it and used to be wet. It's not wet anymore. This is for the city of New Orleans."

Winning quarterback Drew Brees extended that same metaphor:

"In reality, we had to lean on each other in order to survive and in order to get where we are now. The city is on its way to recovery, and in a lot of ways has come back better than ever. We've used the strength and resiliency of our fans to go out and play every Sunday and play with the confidence that we can do it, that we can achieve everything we've set out to achieve."

Place kicker Hartley was low key despite securing the victory with his overtime field goal:

"Just helping my team get to Miami. Just doing my part."

Brett Favre didn't have much to say in defeat:

"I've felt better. It was a physical game. A lot of hits. You win that and you sure feel a lot better." Mississippi native Favre did throw his support behind the Saints:

"I would have loved to represent the NFC. But, as I told Sean throughout the year when we talked, if it's not us, I hope it's you guys."

The Vikings gave up a total of five turnovers including three fumbles. That, said running back Adrian Peterson, was the game:

"We really gave those guys the game. Too many turnovers. It's eating me up inside.

Raiders Upset Visiting Eagles

By Ross Everett

The Oakland Raiders scored the only touchdown of the game in the first quarter and then prevailed in the kicking duel that followed en route to a--9 upset of the visiting Philadelphia Eagles. Much maligned quarterback Jamarcus Russell played his best game of the season despite two interceptions, throwing for 224 yards and a touchdown. It was only the Raiders' second win of the season, and only the Eagles' second loss. Oakland now stands at 2-4 while Philadelphia slid to 3-2.

NFL betting enthusiasts who backed the Raiders as a whopping +14 home underdog were never in any trouble as Oakland took the lead late in the first quarter and never relinquished it. Oakland evened their mark against the NFL pointspread at 3-3, while the Eagles dropped to 3-2 against the number.

After the victory, Raiders' coach Tom Cable said for the first time all season his team focused their intensity in the right direction:

"We went out and threw a fight on somebody and said, 'Enough. Let's play. That's all you can say. There's no magic words or anything like that."

Last week's 44-7 loss to the New York Giants may have served a wakeup call to the Raiders. In particular, they were offended by comments made by Giants' linebacker Antonio Pierce that the game 'felt like playing a scrimmage'. Raiders' wide receiver Louis Murphy didn't dispute the comments but instead took them to heart:

"That gave me extra fuel. You have to look yourself in the mirror and man up. His comments were true. We played flat. We didn't play with any emotion. This game was totally different. We took those comments to heart."

The Raiders' defense received the bulk of the credit for the victory as they pressured Donovan McNabb all day, sacking him six times. The Eagles became the first team in three years to not score an offensive touchdown against the Raiders. Richard Seymour and Trevor Scott each had a pair of sacks, and Scott had the following observation:

"I'm sure they watched the Giants game and thought we were sorry. But all week coach Cable talked about persevering and forget the past and move forward so we can get to where we want to go."

After the game, McNabb had little to say:

"I'm embarrassed by the way we came out here and played. We're a much better football team."

The Raiders will try to put together an actual winning streak as they host the New York Jets next Sunday. Oakland is a +7 home underdog with the total set at 35. They'll play their hated rivals the San Diego Chargers on the road the following Sunday before a bye week. Philadelphia will play the Redskins at Washington next Monday night. The Eagles are a -6' road favorite with the total set at 38'. They'll return home for games the following two Sundays against the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys.

Like Kevin Smith? Check Out Cop Out!

By Aurelia Coffey

Many of the true Kevin Smith di-hard fans are skeptical of this film. It is the first film that Kevin Smith has directed, and not written himself, and it is also his first film by a major studio. But those who really know his work will still see the little things in this movie Cop Out that make Kevin Smith movies in their own league.

So you take two different actors, completely opposite of each other, Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan. Surprisingly their chemistry works well together as they both play cops in New York City. And of course, they have a hilarious and unusual way of working together. Mix all that together with some really great comedy, they did a very great job with this movie. If you watch carefully, it looks as if Bruce Willis is trying to contain himself from laughing so hard.

We already know that the actors are playing cops as the main characters of the movie. They are placed on suspension for not catching a criminal and during that pursuit causing a large neighborhood shootout. Being suspended for a month with out pay, Jimmy, Bruce Willis' character, is short of cash to pay for his only daughters wedding, and decides to sell a baseball card worth a lot of money. While he is taking that card to be looked at, he is then robbed by Sean William Scott's character, Dave. Sean William Scott is well known for his parts in the American Pie movies and he definitely keeps his comedy up in this movie as well.

Another surprise for his fans is that Jason Lee is in the film as well. He plays the new husband to Jimmy's ex wife. And as usual, plays a perfect little scumbag for the film as only he could pull off just right. Jimmy insists on selling his card to keep Jason Lee's character Roy, paying for his daughters wedding, thus taking all the credit for it.

With all the major events going on in the film and twists that you could never expect, somehow the two police officers end up getting mixed up with a huge drug ring. And with out spoiling the entire ending of the film, you will have to see the movie to know what happens next. Just think, how does one go from selling a baseball card, to a drug ring?

For those true followers of Smith, you can still get that feel that it is one of his movies. The hilarious sexual jokes, the way it was filmed and even the music chosen to undertone the film itself, it absolutely speaks Kevin Smith. And if that is not reasoning enough for you, he chose to direct it because of the two cops relationship reminded him of Dante and Randal.

This movie grossed about 53 million on a 37 million budget, so it is not a very huge blockbuster but one that is really worth seeing. It was released in theaters in the United States on February 26, 2010 and over in the United Kingdom in May 2010. It just recently came out on DVD as well as pay per view for those cable viewers.

If you want to see something out of the ordinary, and a hilarious cop movie, seeing Cop Out is a must! It is currently out on DVD as well as on pay per view for many of the cable companies out there. It will be a great time spent for 107 minutes!

Texans Even Record With Win Over Bengals

By Ross Everett

Behind a career day for quarterback Matt Schaub, the Houston Texans erased a 17-14 halftime deficit to score-- points in the second half and defeat the host Cincinnati Bengals 28-17. Schaub threw for 342 yards and 4 touchdowns against one interception in the solid road victory. Against a team that had won three straight games in the final seconds, Houston never gave Cincinnati the chance to create any late drama. Cincinnati dropped to 4-2 with the loss while Houston evened their record at 3-3.

Houston took the money as +3' road underdogs with the outright win, and both teams are now 3-3 on the season against the NFL pointspread. The 45 points just managed to stay UNDER the posted total of 46. The Texans have gone UNDER in 4 of 6 this season while the Bengals evened their NFL totals record at 3-3.

After the victory, Schaub said that his team knew of Houston's penchant for late game comebacks and that 'putting them away' would be a priority:

"Every game went down to the wire for them. Credit goes to them because they were able to find ways to win those games. So it was a matter of putting the game away."

The Texans' stoic head coach Gary Kubiak would only offer that:

"Matt continues to put up exceptional numbers on the road."

The defense did a stellar job as well, shutting out the Bengals in the second half. In the third quarter, Houston only allowed six yards on nine plays for a franchise record. Cornerback Dunta Robininson talked about the defensive corps mindset:

"It was swarm tackling. Everybody has a job to do, and today we made this team a one-dimensional team. Overall as a defense, we played well."

In the losing locker room, wide receiver Chad Ochocinco admitted that his team knew that they couldn't rely on last minute heroics to win games:

"That's our fault. We've been saying that we can't keep winning with the way we've been playing. We've got to be consistent for all four quarters."

The Bengals will play their next two games at home, starting with a contest against the Chicago Bears this Sunday. They'll host the Baltimore Ravens the following Sunday before traveling to Pittsburgh for a game against the Steelers on November 15. The Texans host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. They'll take to the road for the next two games, playing Buffalo on November 1 and Indianapolis the following Sunday.

Saints Blitz Giants To Claim NFC Supremacy

By Ross Everett

Heading into last Sunday, there was a consensus that the New York Giants were the best team in the NFL with an undefeated record, a productive offense and the league's top ranked defense. The New Orleans Saints made a compelling case to the contrary, however, as they dismantled the Giants to win 48-27 behind yet another MVP-like performance from quarterback Drew Brees. Brees threw for 369 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions as New Orleans kept their record perfect on the season at 5-0. The Giants dropped to 5-1 with the defeat.

NFL betting enthusiasts who took New Orleans as -3 home favorites were confident that they'd be cashing a ticket by halftime as the Saints shot out to a 34-17 lead at the break. The Saints also remained perfect against the NFL pointspread at 5-0, while the Giants failed to cover for the first time this season and stand at 5-1 ATS.

After the game, Brees explained his team's strategy:

"We wanted to really dictate the tempo of the game the whole way through. Seven different guys scored touchdowns. That's big. That's the type of rhythm that, when you get in, you feel like you can call anything and it's going to work."

The Saints are off to their best start since'93 and have yet to trail in a game this season. Still, head coach Sean Payton wasn't entertaining talk that his team had established themselves as the presumptive Superbowl favorite:

"I don't think you can talk about big pictures after game 5."

Giants' QB Eli Manning was looking forward to a homecoming of sorts-his father, Archie, played the same position for New Orleans during his NFL career. Suffice to say it didn't go as he had planned:

"It's not the way I imagined it during the week, but you're going to encounter all sorts of games and all sorts of situations. I look at it as a loss. We need to go back to work this week, fix some things and try to improve."

New York head coach Tom Coughlin marveled at the play of the Saints' offensive line who gave Brees great protection all day long:

"I don't know that we ever hit him. At this level, if you're going to stop the pass, you've got to get pressure. You've got to force the quarterback not to throw it on his tempo."

The Saints will now face the Miami Dolphins on the road, with New Orleans a -6 favorite and the total set at 47. After the trip to south Florida they'll return home for a game against longtime rival Atlanta on Monday night football. They'll then host the Carolina Panthers on November 8. The Giants return home to play the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday night, with New York a -7 home favorite and the total set at 46.

Mark Anthony Cella - 1959-1960 Ferrari 250 SWB Berlinetta Competizione

By Mark Anthony Cella

Mark Anthony Cella and the Ferrari 250 Grand Touring Sport Coupe

The precursor to the Berlinetta, which means "Sport Coupe," was the Ferrari 250 GTO. Indeed the GTO was built on the strength of Ferrari's record producing V12 GT racers. GTO equates to "Gran Turismo Omologato," Italian for "Grand Touring Homologated," while homologated means "Official Agreement". The 250 is the cubic centimeter displacement of each cylinder in the engine.

Mark Anthony Cella Officially Agrees This Car is all About Racing

From 1953-64 Ferrari built the SWB model which truly put Ferrari on the center stage. It was their most acknowledged line. It was the first Ferrari to have four wheel disc brakes. It had a model which was the first four seater for this sports car. It had a V12 weighing half as much of competitors, cranking out up to 280bhp at 7000 rpm. It's 4 gear race engine rocketed its victories at so many races the list is endless so here's just a few:

In the 1960 season it took 1st-4th place in the Le Mans 24 hour race, leaving it's nearest rivals to eat dust. It took 1st-3rd in its third consecutive victory of the 5500 km Tour de France. Later that season for a second consecutive win at Goodwood, driver Sterling Moss took a victory by lapping the entire field. Then it won all over the rest of the season.

Weighing only 2,314 pounds gives the Ferraris 250 SWB Competizione a great power to weight ratio. Maximum speed was a little over 150 mph, and 0-60 was 6.2. Excellent numbers for 1960's.

Mark Anthony Cella Officially Agrees One of the Greatest Ferraris of all Time

Enthusiasts envied the fact that owners of this car could show up, unpack and race in the same unmodified car, occasionally changing tires. The only thing necessary was to paste on numbers. The competition models were lighter and had 30-40 more horsepower, regardless of which one you were in other manufacturers didn't stand a chance.

Sports Car Intl placed it as their 7th Top Sports Car of the 60's. Motor Trend voted it 5th on their top ten Greatest Ferraris of all time and Mark A Cella rated it first place on his list of top Muscle Cars of the 60's. It leads over his 67 Corvette Sting Ray and 3rd place 68 Chevrolet Camaro.

How To Choose The Sea Fishing Gear For Your Fishing Trip

By Tim Tony

It is well known that many people enjoy the sport of deep sea fishing but when it comes to buying their gear they are clueless. If this is a sport that you are into or maybe just considering trying out, you need the right deep sea fishing gear. There is no point in spending any more money than you have to on your deep sea fishing gear. First and foremost you want to make sure that you always take the time to do comparison shopping.

Comparison shopping means comparing the prices offered by different stores rather than impulse buying where you just assume you are getting a decent deal and make your purchases. This means finding a few of the stores that offer what you need and then comparing the amount they offer and their asking prices. There are certain sites you can go through such as PriceRunner and PriceGrabber that will compare the costs from various stores of your selected items. There are other options you have as well such as shopping at discount stores.

Just because a store is discount this does not necessarily mean that the items are not as high a quality. This is where you are going to get the best prices and it does not mean you have to settle for a drop in the quality of the items. Try to buy your deep sea fishing gear during off-season months if you can. If you go shopping during peak season, just as would be the case for anything else, the prices are going to be higher.

Stores know that they can offer their items for higher prices and that people are going to have to pay them. You can also choose to buy used equipment. Deep sea fishing is an intense sport and one that really takes its toll on gear and equipment. You may be able to find a great deal on something but if it is in poor condition there is not much point.

If you are going to buy used make sure you check all gear over before paying any money for it. This is going to prevent you from accidentally going overboard and spending more money than you need to. Only get the basic things you need and then if you have the extra money afterwards, or find a great deal, you can feel less guilty about spending the money on them. At least with these tips you will be able to find what you need at the lowest possible price.

By Jeffrey Loflin

Playing an 18 hole round of golf can become a chore, especially when it takes you five or more hours to complete it. And if that's the case, then you lose a whole day that you could keep with the proper tips.

If this is one of your frustrations, there are some solutions to the problem.

The first thing you need to find out is what is taking your golf game so long. Is it you? Are you taking too many practice swings? Are your spending too much time looking for lost balls? Or are you taking too long to putt?

If you have any of the slow habits above you might need to overcome them by golf tips, golf putting tips and golf practice tips.

Several other tips that I found useful in being able to play a more enjoyable and less time consuming round of golf are below.

Locate an exclusive country club that is rarely crowded and join.

Don't play at a course that allows fivesomes.

If you have a flexible schedule, try playing during the week.

Find out what time the first players are allowed on the course and be one of the first groups to play even if it is 5 or 6 am.

If you live in a metropolitan area, you might have to drive an hour out of town to find a less crowded course. It could be very well worth the drive with your friends.

You will find these golf tips useful if you want your game to be less time consuming and more enjoyable, without having to spend ten minutes or more on each hole.

One reason that many people don't play golf is because it can take up so much time. A leisurely enjoyable game of golf shouldn't take much over 4 hours for 18 holes so remember these tips and you'll be able to play a lot more golf a lot faster.

An Introduction To NFL Preseason Handicapping

By Ross Everett

Among the sports betting public there's a lot of conflicting opinions about betting NFL preseason games. That's not really surprising, since there doesn't seem to be much middle ground on the subject. Overly cautious handicappers would argue that preseason football is a poor wagering opportunity. Some of the more obnoxious tout services would have you believe that short of a fixed game there is no greater "lock" that preseason football. Like most things that produce such polarized opinions, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle of the two extremes. Preseason NFL football is a unique proposition for the sports gambler, but when approached with caution, discipline and knowledge it can yield some profit.

The opponent of preseason wagering would suggest that its a bad wagering opportunity by its very nature alone--simply stated, the games don't count meaning that the motivation and focus of individual teams is always in question. It's hard enough to identify teams that are in a desirable 'spot' during the regular season, the often conflicting agendas of personnel evaluation, playbook testing, and injury prevention found in the preseason makes it impossible. All told, this uncertainty makes it very undesirable to get financially involved with preseason NFL games.

The proponent of preseason wagering would argue that this is the very reason that good opportunities frequently arise during preseason. First, additional value is frequently found with the underdog in preseason games by their very nature. To explain, in a hypothetical matchup between a Superbowl champion and an also-ran the "better" team by regular season standards would invariably be favored. However, by virtue of their success the "better" teams have not only more 'marquee names' to protect, but also valued guys in the trenches who could cause big problems if injured. Frequently, they'll have more depth and thus fewer personnel evaluation decisions to deal with. They'll have no need to "create a winning attitude", nor will they usually have wholesale changes in team composition, offensive or defensive strategy, or coaching philosophies to deal with. In short, the "better" teams often go into preseason situations with little to accomplish other than to get the games over with and stay healthy.

NFL 'doormats', meanwhile, have a markedly different agenda to their more successful counterparts. They've often got heated competition for starting positions or key back up roles. They've often got new coaching staffs that players want to impress. Most significantly, they're in great need of establishing a winning attitude. A win against an elite team in a 'meaningless' preseason game often has a much greater value to this type of team than to a playoff contender.

Even teams that put a low priority on preseason games don't want to lose them all. For this reason, a longterm winning situation has been to bet on teams that lose their first two preseason games outright. Over the past twenty years, 0-2 teams in this spot have produced a winning percentage right around 60%.

Perhaps nothing determines a team's approach to the preseason more than the philosophy of the head coach. Some coaches simply hate to lose anytime they line 'em up to play football, and as a result their teams are usually good preseason bets. Bill Parcells was famous for the preseason focus of his teams. Not surprisingly, many who worked with Parcells earlier in their careers are now carving out their own records of preseason success. This sort of dominance isn't lost on the linesmaker and a coach like the Giants' Tom Coughlin (a former Parcells assistant) will have his ATS success will definitely been factored into the pointspread. Still, a motivated team that wants to win is always worthy of consideration.

One of the best tools that a handicapper has at his disposal during the preseason is the Internet. Actually, it's a great tool year round but during the preseason it is invaluable. The best source of information on coaching philosophies, game plans, injuries, lineup changes, etc, are the local sports pages of NFL teams. Basically, the situation during preseason is that there is a lot of interest in the team and a lot of anxious beat writers looking to write stories. The problem is that there is little in the way of real news, and for that reason you'll find the sort of minutiae on teams and players from which you can often extract relevant handicapping information. Even if there aren't any nuggets of handicapping gold, you can at least get a feel for the coach's goals for the game and the amount of playing time that key players will see. Sometimes coaches will come right out and say who will play at what juncture of the game, and will occasionally go on record that personnel decisions like evaluating all of the guys they're considering for the backup defensive secondary jobs are more important than winning. Clearly, operating with this knowledge is a distinct advantage and operating without it can be fatal. There's nothing more frustrating than betting on a team only to have them look like they could care less whether or not they win the game. During the preseason, however, it can frequently be prevented with some simple research and analysis.

In conclusion, there are certainly strong opportunities for profit in NFL preseason wagering but its essential to understand that it cannot be approached in the same manner as the regular season. And, as always, its important to remember that there will be more strong opportunities down the road and that discipline and rigor in handicapping is just as crucial in the preseason NFL as it is at any other time of the year.

Enjoy Yucatan Days And The Yucatan Nightlife

By Ron Williams

This is part two in a sequence of four articles.

In our last column we discussed the coastal yucatan region south of Playa del Carmen as well as in the area of Tulum. In this piece we are going to center of Playa plus the activities around this prospering beachfront Caribbean township. What originated as a quiet and tiny Caribbean fishing hub, has rapidly evolved into one of the top travel destinations in the yucatan. Back in the early 90's we visited that sleepy little village and I can say first hand it is a far cry from what it is today. Popularity causes advancement and change, but if you are looking for a wonderful get-away and tons of action, Playa is the place.

Playa today represents a Caribbean destination that has it all. From world class shopping on the famed 5th Avenue to various adventure parks, first class Playa del Carmen hotels and all-out resorts to night clubs and restaurant options to satiate even the most critical palettes. Whether by day or nighttime, you should find no lack of things to do in this amazing city!

Playa is a lot more than just kilometers away from the modest Tulum hotels and eco-chic cabana resorts you will find further down the coast, but it still remains a beautiful, active and culturally rich location to visit. By daytime, the area gives you some of the best people viewing that exists in Mexico, whether or not on the broad caribbean beaches or on the 5th Avenue walking mall you can see a extensive range of company from all over the world. There is so much to do and see in this conveniently placed modest city, being a quick boat ride to Cozumel for a terrific day trip for snorkeling or scuba or heading up the coastline 30 minutes to the city of cancun for even more options.

Playa during the day means beach days, snorkel and SCUBA tours, daylight jungle excursions, adventure theme parks, golf and great shopping. By night this town brings out the wild side in many who embark out beneath the illumination of the moon. In addition to the first class dining choices there are at a minimum a dozen night-clubs that cater to the late night dance and adventurous crowds. Commonly recognized as a fun family holiday option, Playa del Carmen is promptly establishing itself as a rival for Cancun with the dance party entertainment options. A handfull of locations you will get the urge to visit for the nightlife in this amazing place include; CoCo Bongo for great stage shows with talented music impersonators, The Blue Parrot for the fire expose's on Friday and Saturday nights, OM Playa for a beer in comfort and La Santanera for a hip-hop dance club.

Whether by daylight or nightlife, with family, a duo or single traveler, Playa del Carmen truly offers something for everyone who is looking for a little or a lot of the caribbean in their vacation. In our next report we will go inland and observe the majesty of the mexican world and culture of Merida and the encompassing areas. There is zero shortage of fun and positive energy when it comes to expeditions on the Yucatan!
