Mandarin is one of the most popular of languages these days ever since China has become one of the biggest economies in the world. Because of this, many schools have popped out in so many states in America, especially in the city of Los Angeles CA as this city has a lot of quality schools that would teach this language to those who want to learn. So for those would want to learn mandarin in los angeles, this overview would give him an idea of what he is to go through.

Now when one would start learning this language, beginners would first want to get the basics down as without knowing the basics, he will not be able to move forward. Now one of the most basic aspects of this language that one would have to learn would be the four intonations of Mandarin. Now each word would make use of one of these tones and would form one exact word.

Now these four tones would be used in order to differentiate the words that one will speak. Now each word would make use of one of these intonations only. If one would want to say a specific word, he would have to know the proper pronunciation of the word otherwise he will say a different word.

The first tone would be the consistent tone wherein one would actually pronounce a word in a monotone sound. If one would say a word with this kind of pronunciation, he would most likely say the word for a rather long while. Now this tone is symbolized by a straight line.

The second one on the list would be the one where beginners would raise their voice a little bit when they are saying it. Now in a sense, one would actually be pronouncing the word with a high note. Now it is represented by a line that is going upward to show how it should be pronounced.

The very next one will be the fall and rising sound wherein one will actually sound like he is singing. He will sound like he is singing because he will first be saying the tone with a low voice which would then transit to a high note. This sound would be represented by a check mark because the lines that make up the check mark would be how one should pronounce this tone.

The final tone would be the strong tone that would actually sound like it is going downward. There would be times when one would think that he is shouting because he has to say the tone in a strong way. Now the symbol that represents this sound would be the line that goes downward.

So if one is interested in learning Mandarin, then he would have to perfect these very four tones. Now these four tones have to be perfected because if one would not perfect them, then he will be mixing up his words while speaking. Before he goes on to advanced lessons like learning how to put the words together to make sentences, he will first have to master this basic lesson first.
