The salaries will mostly depend on the number of members or size of the denomination. A denomination that is still young with few members and is still growing may require a part-time minister and the salary may not be that good and a minister may find the need to find another job to hold to. Nevertheless a large denomination with a large following may offer a very generous pay with health and retirement benefits.

As a degree holder, there are many job opportunities that you can go for. If you are not interested in becoming a minister in church, there are other job opportunities that are available. Sometimes, you may lack a job as a pastor. In such a circumstance, consider job such as youth leadership and other church services such as the choir.

Another place a person can work with the degree is in a children ministry or be a counselor in institutions like a hospital, prison or any other institution that requires counselors with religious background. With a degree in this filed, an individual might find it difficult to secure a very nice position but an individual can just fix yourself somewhere. After that, you can advance to masters level. This helps you secure a senior position.

As an adult who is already involved in church activities whether as an employee or a volunteer, enrolling for a degree program is recommended. Most churches prefer getting an individual who has a good religious background and not just a degree. Such an individual is more likely to be committed to church activities.

Consider your denomination before joining a religious college. Most colleges are not affiliated to certain denominations. Their teachings are therefore completely non-denominational. Some denominations prefer working with people who have schooled from colleges that are affiliated to them.
