The Basics About Color Run Indianapolis Races And Registration

By Elnora H. Haag

People all across Indiana will be participating in color run Indianapolis to add some color to their lives as they support a local charity. If this sounds like something that might appeal to you, keep reading. The following are some practical information about this kind of race.

Color run Indianapolis lives up to its name as it works hand in hand with Special Olympics Indiana, an organization that assists thousands of adult and children athletes with intellectual disabilities, by giving them year-round training in more than 20 different activities. This organization relies entirely on voluntary contributions from civic, corporate, and individual sources to carry out their activities.

The race will be held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, with a 5k track that twists around the fairgrounds, carrying runners to the finish line. The race starts at 9am, and goes until dark, so there is plenty of time to complete the race. If you compete, you will begin the race in clean white sportswear that will not be pristine for very long!

As the race begins, you will quickly be bombarded by blue, purple, green, red, and pink bombs from the color bomb squad. The same thing will happen at every color station positioned along sections of the track and lead up to an explosive finale at the finish line.

Everyone qualifies to enter in the color run Indianapolis, so it doesn't matter how old you are, or how quick you run. Participants 18 and under need a signed waver, but can participate and can get the race packet with a free white tee shirt and other race goodies. Kids ages 7 and under get in free with an adult, but don't get the packet tee-shirt.

Registering is as easy as counting to three, just go to the registry area on the color run website, fill the empty data fields, pay, and your done! If you feel so inclined, you can make a donation in the area dedicated to the local charity.

However, what if you don't want to run in the race, but do want to have a part? Then you can be a member of the color bomb squad and bombard contestants as they go through color stations while they run the race. That can be a lot of fun, especially if you have family and friends who will be participants the race.

Now that you know all the facts, it's time to enroll in this 5k color fun. Then, before you are aware of it, you will be having a fun filled day you won't soon forget!
