The world of car racing is one that is full of fun and thrill to both the participants and the fans. One such thrilling sport is known as dirt track modified racing. This is a sport that involves modified vehicles racing against each other on special clay soil or grass tracks. It is characterized by many unique features that make it a sport to beat and follow up on any day.

The whole sporting activity has a rich history and was started way back in the beginning of the twentieth century. The whole concept was to have drivers race their own custom made or designed cars on an oval shaped like track. This shape is very convenient when it comes to beating competitors on the sharp corners. The length of the tracks is standardized in such a way to make the races safe for the participants.

For instance, cars in the subject races are not just any ordinary automobiles. Normal drivers are used to street vehicles that are not modified in any way.

Other modifications are seen in the structure of a car such as the body itself. The body can be modified to make the car to have an open wheel design. Open wheel cars cannot be found in any other place apart from in the subject events. Many other small modifications are done throughout the structure of a car and this makes it even more intriguing.

The races take place in many parts of the world. Seasons for the sport are divided all through the years and drivers are trained specifically to race on the special tracks mentioned above. The races are filled with enthusiastic fans who love to watch the drivers compete for the top spot. The thrill and risk involved in the races make them very captivating.

There are bodies that govern the subject tournaments and make sure that the participating cars follow the set rules and guidelines that have been put forward. The future for this sporting event is very bright and more and more people will love it as years go by.
