How To Survive In An Online Theological Seminary

By Jocelyn Davidson

Learning more about the Lord's words is a very important pursuit that people should go for. While most people will do this at a casual level, there are those who devote the rest of their lives in servitude to the Lord. It is because of this that they look for the online theological seminary or the real-life ones so that they can get the best education possible on this matter.

Pursuing a relationship close to the Lord is already a given. However, the road to that is quite long and hard work is necessary. You have to face various obstacles and hardship to be able to come to a place where you can confidently speak of the Lord's graces. If you are already enrolled at the said school, then you better take note of the following tips.

First, d not feel too nervous during your first day. It is fine if you do not know anyone in your class. Just like you, the other people in class will not know of anyone too. In order for you to break your fear, then you better start engaging people to talk with you, answer your questions or ask questions.

Even if this class is not as elegant or modern sounding pursuit such as engineering or architecture, going to this class will still take up money. If you do not have the money to pay for your tuition, you should not enroll or even take only those that you can afford. Moreover, do take out a loan. You will not be able to pay them off later since the work of a seminarian is not that lucrative financially.

During the first week of your classes, you will oftentimes endure a syllabus shock. However, you have to hang in there. Every assignment given to you will be easy to accomplish, especially if you ask for the Lord's guidance. The Lord will be with you so you just have to trust in Him and pray.

You need a calendar notebook. The calendar notebook is necessary for you since this is where you will be writing your assignments. A great tip in writing your assignments is that you color code them to remind you of which ones to prioritize.

Meeting up with a faculty adviser is a good idea. It will allow you to get to know who will be handling your class. If you want to meet the faculty adviser, you should do that within the first semester. When you meet up with the faculty adviser, be sure to get advice and encouragement.

The class will require you to take up various courses that are related to theology. However, you should not limit yourself to these courses. You should try to take up courses for speed reading and report writing. This will be helpful for you in the future, especially if you are asked to write a research paper.

You need enough study time daily. However, you can turn your study time into a more effective time. You can use this as a time for meditation. It should not be a problem, considering how you will be required to study passages in your Bible. Converting your study time to a time for meditation should be a piece of cake.
