By Essie Osborn

Before you fly a plane you will need some skills. And right now you are reading this article because you will be flying a Piper Malibu soon, or you just probably bought one recently. In any case the next thing to do will be to acquire some Piper Malibu training courses and classes to help you on your way.

A checklist is definitely much needed in looking for someone to train you to fly this machine. Although considered as simple the checklist will be invaluable in assisting you to make an informed decision. This decision of course is which outfit to choose in assisting you with the skills needed to fly your new plane.

Foremost on your list is that the person teaching you must be a Master Flight Instructor, with no less than seven thousand hours of flying experience. He or she of course must be accredited by the proper governing bodies such as the Federal Aviation Administration and has the necessary Industry Training Standards certification which is commonly called as FITS.

The person assigned to train you must be very adaptable and able to adjust. He or she must be aware of your strengths and limitations and this be able to adjust the lesson plans accordingly to fit you and your pace. The instructor should be able to give a lot of practical advice based on experience rather than just theoretical textbook stuff. They must also be able to give you a boost in your confidence to be able to maximize the skills that you have gained and are thinking of gaining while the program is going on.

As the Piper Malibu is a personal aircraft, you will need to look for an outfit that specializes in educating for personal aircraft. You should investigate not only that they have the necessary certifications as their pilots, but the required experience and track record as well. Asking for a previous client list of your targeted school would also be recommended, which you can of course verify.

The better schools that you should choose from must be able to give post training services. The post training service would come in the way of a recurrent annual training to keep you abreast of new ideas and regulations. These annual retraining courses will also keep your skills fresh and exercised.

The school you have in mind should be active in at least three or more airports or airfields. This will ensure that you will be given a wider opportunity and choice of learning environment. Also a company that has wide representation regionally will also mean it is more stable and is not a fly by night operation like some outfits out there today.

Thus these are just a few points to consider in your flying school checklist. You may also add pricing of packages into the checklist you have so you can decide more accurately. In any case, this article hopefully has put you in the right direction in getting the right school to get you ready to fly in your Piper Malibu.
