Improve Operations With Piper Meridian Training

By Leticia Jensen

Throughout the courses offered for Piper Meridian training, students will learn the basic techniques used to operate a highly technical aircraft. Students will also learn how to maneuver a plane that is equipped with high performance engines capable of attaining high altitudes and flight speeds. This aircraft is chosen primarily by pilots that want to provide passengers with a stylish mode of travel.

These educational events are offered by experienced trainers that use state of the art facilities equipped with flight simulators. The classes chosen by most pilots are known throughout the aeronautical industry and are presented by the best trainers. The classes provide students with class schedules that include five or six day sessions, and students can schedule other courses that cover maintenance, and other advanced topics that pilots will find beneficial.

Students will learn all aspects of the techniques used to cover proper operating procedures from highly trained instructors. Through flight simulators, owners will learn all aspects of the fuel systems, and the powerful turboprop engine manufactured by Pratt & Whitney. The trainees will learn to properly manage the fuel systems on board and reap the benefits of fuel efficiency.

Students will be tasked with completing all action items that are listed on the planes standard operating procedures. Through various flight simulator modes of operation, the pilots will be able to review schematics for the electrical system in the plane. Flight control panels will be reviewed, and students will learn to operate the wing flaps, as well as other mechanisms on the control panel.

The cause of system failures will be discussed and instructors will task students with finding solutions to many types of failures. Over the course of two days, students will have the opportunity to study the instrument panel and how some are used to perform operational tasks and others will allow the pilot to file a flight plan. The flight simulators will give pilots a chance to feel how the aircraft responds during high altitude flight operations.

Students will learn how to respond to remove ice from the plane during icy weather conditions on the ground and how to respond to ice that forms during flight. The airplane is equipped with an auto piloting program, and students will discuss the avionics that are in use when this mechanism is in full operation. The classroom instruction will also include the proper operation of the landing gear and how to manage the environmental systems on board the aircraft.

The classes will provide the owner with information about upgrades and modifications that can be made prior to purchase. Owners will learn that certain color schemes are offered and that colors such as summit, glacier, dune, and mesa can be applied using non-metallic or metallic paint selections. The exterior surfaces of the aircraft will be covered with DuPont quality polyurethane paints that conform to industry standards.

After a full review of course materials is conducted at the end of the course, and the training sessions will culminate with a final examination and a solo flight demonstration that is witnessed by one of the instructors. Pilots will learn how to load the aircraft with materials so that the weight and balance standards procedures are met and instructors will conduct a thorough review of all aircraft systems.
