Which Changes Are Making Commuter Bicycling Better?

By Rob Sutter

I think that commuter bicycling is going to be home to a number of elements, each of them playing into how well this hobby is able to run. Of course, you're most likely going to focus on the environment and see which aspects are able to make the ride easiest for you. However, I'm starting to see, more and more, that there are changes in order to make the process better for some. It's worth talking about these because it goes to show how tremendous this method is becoming.

Huffington Post Canada put up an article recently and it seemed relevant considering how great the Citi Bike program within NYC had become. Smart design has been able to increase the amount of riders in the world and there are many instances of this in the world. For example, Japan instituted an underground park system for riders so that they could better secure their vehicles. Seeing as how stolen vehicles have become an issue, this is a tremendous advancement that, hopefully, other parts of the world benefit from.

College was mentioned in the article as well, which doesn't surprise me considering the many types of travel to consider. Companies along the lines of Linus Bike have shown that these rides can be utilized for a number of reasons. There are models which are meant for those who are looking to get exercise in while others are simply vying for a way to get from one place to the next without any other bells and whistles. It's clear that there are a number of ways to get into commuter bicycling.

As much as the environment may change, I'd like to think that such alterations can be attributed to the rides themselves. Electric bikes stand as just one of the examples to consider, though I don't know great a reputation these have. Apparently, such machine have drawn the ire of passionate riders, seeing as how many believe that they are products of laziness. However, with criticisms like these, there are some glowing points to consider, on-board Wi-Fi being one such point that deserves to be looked at.

It seems like this trend will only continually change as time goes along, which is something that I hope happens. To me, it's one of the best hobbies to get into, especially if you're someone who is strapped as far as ways to exercise go. You may want to consider this method, no matter which model you go with. Regardless of that choice you make, I believe that you will be able to benefit from the constantly shifting environment all the same.
