How CPR AED First Aid Classes Can Help Save Lives

By Olivia Cross

Close to 92 percent of patients who suffer from sudden cardiac arrest do not make it to hospitals. They die before they arrive in hospitals. But with CPR AED first aid classes, they could provide the necessary skills needed to save lives of people immediately they are attacked by cardiac arrest. Sudden cardiac arrest is among the leading causes of deaths, with many people losing their lives before they get to healthcare facilities.

If resuscitation is provided the right way and immediately after a cardiac arrest, it could help in saving many lives that are actually lost. Anyone should be able to perform this process, and the only way to do it is by first learning the technique. It is a pretty simple technique that anyone can perform.

Many a times, when cardiac arrests occur, the victims have very little time to survive. It is those first minutes that can determine if one will survive or die. If the victim gets the resuscitation at that moment, it can help save his or her life. But this is not possible if there is no one around who has taken the course.

A significant number of lives can be saved if more people consider taking the right training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. People need to train on resuscitation so that they can manage helping people who get sudden circulatory arrest. While training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation has been there for a long time, people have not taken the initiative to take the course.

People who train in CPR have a better chance of helping others whether at home or in workplace. Today, employers want people who have life saving skills. If you are a job applicant and have taken the resuscitation course, you are much advantaged than others who do not possess any life saving skill.

People have lost lives because when they were attacked by cardiac arrest, there were no people to help resuscitate them. The first few minutes following a cardiac arrest could determine if one is going to survive or die. If resuscitation is provided immediately one is attacked, it can keep an artificial blood flow until the medics arrive.

It is estimated that medical emergency team, takes about 8 to 12 minutes but while this timeframe is very short and a quick one, it may not be sufficient to keep one alive. By the time the medics arrive, it is too late to save a life. When resuscitation procedures such as mouth-to-mouth and chest compressions are done properly, they can help the victims. There are also machines, which are used to trigger electric shock that can induce heart rhythm. The defibrillators should be used properly.

A person has less than 10 minutes to survive when circulatory arrest strikes and therefore, the initial moment following the attack can go a long way in saving the live. You can make yourself a hero by giving another person the chance to survive. Even one incident of life saved through resuscitating is a big achievement not only to you but also to the community. It also gives that individual another chance in life.
