How Online CPR Classes Can Help In Handling Cardiac Arrests

By Enid Hinton

People have lost their lives because of difficulties in breathing caused by cardiac arrests and choking or suffocation. When the heart stops beating, there is no supply of blood and hence oxygen to the tissue including the brain. It only takes a few minutes and a person dies. With online CPR classes, they provide you with the essential skill needed to resuscitate a patient when attacked by cardiac arrest.

Cardiac arrests can strike unexpectedly and in areas where medics may not be available such as homes or workplaces. If there are one or more persons knowledgeable in resuscitation, it could help save a life. Close to 92 percent of cases of cardiac arrests result to deaths before the patients are taken to hospitals. This number could be reduced if resuscitation is provided immediately a person collapses.

It is very frustrating and traumatizing to see a person die of a cardiac arrest when you could have saved a life by providing a simple procedure like CPR. Since there is very little for you to save a life, if you are trained in CPR, you could make one a hero by saving his or her life. You also make yourself a hero by giving someone another chance to survive in this life.

Many cardiac arrest incidents occur in places such as homes where they may be no medical personnel to help the patients. If one or more people in the family are trained in this procedure, it could prevent these deaths. About 92 percent of people who have been struck by cardiac arrest, they die before they reach hospital or the medics arrive in the scene.

You could make one a hero by saving his or her life if you have taken the classes. It is very agonizing and devastating to encounter a situation that requires CPR procedure and you are not able to deliver it properly or at all. About 70 percent of people cannot perform this procedure when they are faced with the accidents because they are not trained or the training they underwent has lapsed.

You do not want to be confronted with an accident that requires resuscitation and you cannot offer it. This is painful and could cause traumatizing moments as you watch a family member or a victim with cardiac arrest die helplessly. You would better do to something but it may not be possible if you have not acquired the skill.

At home, a cardiac arrest can attack a family member and it is in the middle of the night. While medics may take a short time to arrive at home, it is not enough to keep the person alive. Considering that it only takes a few minutes for a person having cardiac arrest to die, it requires immediate response. This is why many people lose their lives before they reach health facilities.

The initial moments in a circulatory arrest are what determine whether a patient will die or survive. People need to take it serious to train in CPR, as they may not know when their skill will be needed. It may happen today, tomorrow, or in near future and the best thing one should do is ensure they are always prepared for the eventuality.
