By Kylie Manter

Wearing golf shoes during every game is a must; furthermore, it could also be a means for you to win the game. Having sharp skills and high-quality clubs will not matter when you are too distracted on the shoes that you are wearing. Apparently, there are golfers who are not mindful of the shoes they are wearing; but they just do not know that these shoes can influence their performance. Hence, golfers should always wear appropriate and fitting golf shoes as it is important to end up winning.

There are golfers who suffer with the game due to wearing uncomfortable shoes. What's more? Golfers also walk in bushes and wet grass in order to retrieve the ball, this makes their shoes wet. This is why there is a need for golfers to search for a brand of golf shoes that is durable enough to last for a long period of time.

First, determine if the size of the shoes matches the size of your feet. Make sure you can freely move, stand, swing and walk without any hindrance and discomforts. Also, it is best to choose shoes that have memory foam on them. To best move your feet and ankles, memory foams inside golf shoes adjust their shapes in accordance with the contour of your feet.

These days, golf shoe manufacturers utilize three essential materials in creating the perfect pair of shoes; these are polyester, leather and Gore-Tex. Most golfers prefer wearing shoes made of leather because they are stylish. They are also waterproof and highly durable against many environmental factors. Golfers' feet can stay dry and comfortable when they were leather shoes.

On the other hand, shoes made of polyester are thinner, lighter and much more affordable. The only drawback about polyester golf shoes is that they are not waterproof and durable like leather ones; nonetheless, they are also comfortable to wear. You can opt for a much better material than polyester, this material is called Gore-Tex; it is heavy duty and ideal to use during cold weather. The material is thick, durable, waterproof, and still breathable.

If you have a budget and you play golf most of the time or in leagues, then you might want to choose leather or Gore-Tex golf shoes. Polyester shoes, on the other hand, are suitable for occasional golf plays only. But it all boils down to your preference of what shoe material can make you feel more comfortable.

As a golfer, it is also important to consider the spikes on the shoes because they stabilize movements, enabling you to perform a smoother and more accurate swing. Metal spikes or plastic spikes are some varieties of spikes. In terms of durability and price, metal spikes are greater and expensive while plastic spikes cost less and are suitable for any surface. Many golfing tournament hosts would advise golfers to use plastic spikes because they are ideal on hard surfaces and they do not harm the grassy field.

Finally, stylish shoes that look good on you is what you need to have. Believe it or not, a golfer's appearance can affect his or her performance. They do not have to be expensive; as long as they are very comfortable to wear, then they are good enough. Comfortable, being cost-effective, and maximum support - these are the qualities of the best golf shoes.
