Eldora Speedway Weather Tends To Change On A Whim At Times

By Ina Hunt

On that big day, you will not want to be caught unprepared. Eldora Speedway weather forecasts will be able to give a person a heads up on what to expect while at the races. They are very detailed and give both the high and the low for each day as well as what the wind strength will be. They are even able to predict if it will remain stable or unstable.

A track day is an organized event where anyone is invited to either drive or be a spectator. For one to join in the fun of driving a valid driving license or a racing license for the event needs to be shown and in some instances a fee is asked. One group will be allowed on the track according to the individual's level of experience and there is usually a specific time that is allowed for these events. Some organizers can even rent out a vehicle if one does not have their own.

On some speedways they hold a sort of racing school where one is taught the finer skills of the motor vehicle control. This is done with experienced former racers. Many young hopefuls who are interested in joining in on this fun will need to be guided and nurtured as this is a sport where eye-hand co-ordination is very important.

Most of the first races were not very long; usually about 125 miles in length and only 150 laps were raced. There was a ten minute halftime break as there were no pit stops. This was when any changes that needed to be done were completed. In 1996 two intermissions were added, one was for a fuel stop and the other for a tire change. The longer races would then be allowed to have three breaks. If any concern was noted about the tire conditions extra break periods were allowed.

The Nationwide Series promotes the minor league circuit. This is considered a way to prove that one is able to move up to the big leagues. These were previously named the NASCAR Busch Series. In 2006 the sponsors announced that they were not going to carry on sponsoring this series and Nationwide Insurance took over. They would then increase their involvement and offer car as well as track sponsorship.

In 2005 this series was held for the first time outside of the United States. It was held in Mexico City and was won by Martin Truex Jnr. The second one that was held was in Montreal and was won by Kevin Harvick. Three years later NASCAR announced that the series will no longer be run outside of the United States.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is named after its current sponsor. It was originally known as Strictly Stock Series and then became known as the Grant National Series. The champion is determined by a point system. Points are given according to where they finished and how many laps that they led.

Eldora Speedway weather very seldom makes one miss any event. So many people are willing to attend no matter what it is like outside. These events are booked on many calendars and are so exciting that people will attend no matter what the skies forecast.
