Visitors Use Everglades Fishing Charters While On Vacation

By Judy Sullivan

Tourists enjoy traveling to the southern most end of the State of Florida to board Everglades fishing charters. Sports fishermen have a passion for catching fish in the clear, sparkling waters surrounding the Everglade region, which features more than 10,000 islands that are surrounded by water filled with big game fish like tarpons, grouper, trout, drum, and red fish and sailfish.

The captains of the chartered vessels are familiar with the places that fish frequent that stretch along the Keys. Every charter trip will provide anglers with the opportunity to fish in areas that are filled to the brim with a wide variety of fish. The captains know which inlets are frequented by large groups of fish, and anglers have great trust in the captains ability to find the right place during any weather condition.

The Everglade region is protected by regulations because the area is host to the Everglades National Park. All locals in this region are fully compliant in protecting endangered species, and all trips made to the region will be managed so that no imprint is left on the environment. Quota limits will be explained at the beginning of every trip.

The Gulf of Mexico boasts some of the best opportunities in the world to catch large fish. Anglers can select a charter that will take anglers out to sea for an entire day. While out in the Gulf waters, the fishermen can experiment with the skills learned for fly casting, or the more physical tasks that will help bring in a big game fish. The crew and the Captain are well informed about where fish like to gather and will steer the boats along that path.

Some paths will take enthusiasts to areas where shipwrecked boats lie on the ocean floor. The tours can be tailored to allow small groups to swim in the open ocean, while millions of fish swim underneath. There are many islands that feature unique trees that are grouped in groves, and the mangrove orchards that are submerged in the water are home to many fish species that anglers want to catch, especially tarpon and bone fish.

Open bay style vessels are used to most trips, and larger vessels offer protection from the elements. Families can be accommodated for trips that last a half day, and other activities can be planned that will allow fun along the coastline where snorkeling is available. Youngsters will be amused by the sea life that resides in these protected waters.

Families can climb aboard these vessels and enjoy quality time together in an open ocean environment, too. Big game fish swim in these waters, and will require tools that exceed the light tackle required to fish in other areas. Large boat captains will often supply smaller groups with the tackle needed to bring in a huge game fish.

Boarding Everglades fishing charters are a great way for anglers to enjoy the day. Day trips can be designed to visit all areas of the glades and fishermen can cast lines that will snag award winning fish. Some anglers enjoy booking small sized vessels to fish the day away, and a new trend is emerging for kayak fishing in the region.
