Tattoos - Make the right choice

By Shakita Surra

The era of the drawing designs on the body is not a recent development. Though the importance linked to the tattoos has increased within the last few decades, their history is as old as the modern human civilization. The word hails from the Polynesian term, 'tatao'. The term tattoo was used the very first time in 1769 by James Cook.

The evidences of tattoos among the Greeks have been found from the archaeological evidences and are regarded as symbols with which the slaves were marked. The other famous civilizations of the olden times, Mayans, Incas and Aztecs also used the tattoos for various purposes. The close association of the tattoos with the nature is seen from the color green used in the tattoos of the earlier days.

The legendary design, dragon was famous among the youth before and hence history talks about their use in tattoos too. Simple inking was done with monochrome colors. The fire spitting creature has still been able to hold its significance, with the present designs of the dragon tattoo done in practically all colors.

The dilemma in the minds of the people who get inked for the first time is about the right design for them and the place of getting tattooed. An expert advice for the people, who wish to get tattooed the first time, is always to choose a temporary tattoo.

One would rather have a temporary design and later make it permanent depending on its suitability than choose the wrong design and crib about it throughout his life. Thus, if you have made up your mind to acquire a permanent tattoo, a study about their meanings prior to inking is mandatory.

Among the recent trends among men is angel tattoos. As a matter of fact, every man waits for an angel to change his life and add more colors to it. This is evident by the growing popularity of angel tattoos among guys. The angel is a way to depict their love towards the angel in life.

Some men consider the angel on their arm, synonymous with the woman they love and showcase their love through the tattoo. Angel is considered a symbol of purity and peace. Thus, the person who has the angel tattoo on hopes that the tattoo fills in peace into his life.

The angel tattoos are of many kinds. The major ones among them are Cherub angel tattoos, Guardian angel tattoos, Arch angel tattoos and fallen angel tattoos. Among them the tattoos traditional people opt for, are the Arch angel tattoos that depict the messengers of God. The next form of the angel tattoo that stands second in line is Guardian angel tattoo. These angels are thought of as the protectors from evil.

One won't be wrong in saying that the most painful part of getting tattooed is choosing the design. The pain during inking can be tolerated, but a wrong decision regarding the design is something you will regret throughout life.
