What Casino Bonus Offers Are Available From Online Casinos?

By Angelo Bucco

If you have visited a major gaming destination like Las Vegas you will realize that hotel and casino complexes offer a variety of promotions. Complimentary meals and rooms are offered in hotels, which of course hope that their guests will then visit the attached casino. Online casinos now advertise a great number of casino bonus offers for new players. New players may be confused by the different types of offer at first, and this short article will explain some of the promotions.

Online casinos offer sign-up bonuses (or welcome bonuses) to attract new players to register. Only new players can claim this: those who do not already have an account at that casino. After you have wagered a predetermined amount (the "wagering requirement") you have earned your bonus. The bonus is then added to your account. Sometimes the bonus can only be earned by playing certain games: you must play slots to earn a "Slots Only" bonus.

There are three different types of sign-up bonus: no-deposit bonus, deposit match bonus and free money bonus.

With a no-deposit bonus the player is not required to make any deposit. The casino simply gives him some money to start playing on their website.

If a casino advertises a deposit match bonus then they will match the money which the player deposits. This usually applies up to a certain limit, and the rate at which the match the players money is specified as a percentage. Example: "100% sign-up bonus up to $100" means that the casino will match 100% of any deposit the player makes up to $100. If the player deposits $50 then the casino will match it with $50 of the casino's money.

With a free money deposit then the casino adds the specified amount of money into the players account. The player must make a minimum deposit.

The player will not have immediate use of his bonus money. To get the money you need to meet the "wagering requirement" by wagering the requisite amount of your own money. You might be limited to certain games for this: you must play slots to earn a "Slots Only" bonus. You can still play other games of course, but the money wagered on these wouldn't help towards the wagering requirement.
