Muay Thai is a combat and physical sport that originated in the country Thailand. This style uses a wide range of techniques especially knees, elbows and clinching styles. This discipline is very well known as the art of eight limbs due to the combination of elbows, fists, shins and knees. This fighting technique naturally evolves from warfare and then in time became a national sport. The competitions have greatly become as a part of traditions and festivals. When it comes to muay thai dallas, individuals will have to learn the technique by attending as a practitioner and understand the ways from a master.

Punches are basic parts of muaythai and even other styles. The punches in this discipline are quite limited where the practitioner will likely uses crosses or straight jabs and hooks. Body punching in this sport is weakened ad not that much of an important strike compared to others. They develop only a few limited strikes from long range to short ranges.

Knees are the most dangerous techniques in the world of muaythai. The knees are the most effective way to bring down an opponent. Knees strikes are composed of curving, slap, flying, bomb, diagonal, step up and horizontal strikes. The knee is effective in cutting down and slicing the enemies skins and destroying the bodies weaknesses.

Even though that attacks are effective to drop or even knock out an opponent, there are still ways to defend such attacks. Defending is one of the most important aspects that a person will have to learn that different styles of defending.

Disruption is where the defender will create an attack using disruptive techniques like round house kicks, foot thrust or jabs. The defender will use these strikes to minimize the enemy from closing the gap or distance. It will prevent the attacker from getting a good chance of attacking them.

Avoidance is where the body will move out from the ranges of punches and strikes but still remain in range for an immediate counter attack. Common examples is where the individual will move their legs and shins when being hit by a low kick then instantly delivers roundhouse kicks.

Learning the basic positions and stances is crucial in maintaining your balance. Perfecting your fighting stance is the primal way to start your attack and defend any strike. It is an important aspect in every fight because maintaining a proper balance will protect ones self from different blows an opponent can deliver. Flexibility is vital having a good fighting stance.

Spread the feet just between the shoulder width and hip width with the knees a little bit bent. Kepp the dominant foot slightly behind from your back so there will be enough momentum when you plan to kick a foot towards the opponent. Tensing up the abdominal muscles is important. However, it should not inhibit movement or breathing.

When hitting the enemy with a straight strike, the fists should be rotated so that the impact will be caused by the knuckles and not the fingers. Never overextend the strikes. It will leave yourself open to counter punches and kicks.
