Best Vertical Jump Program - 3 Mistakes To Avoid When Choosing

By Mat Hultquist

Picking the best vertical jump program can be a hassle because there are so many to choose from. In my search for a program to increase my vertical leap, I found there are 3 mistakes you want to avoid:

1. Coaching charges - be wary of coaching fees when deciding on the best vertical jump program. The coaching itself is not the issue. The fees they charge and the manner in which it is disclosed can be.

As an example, some of the vertical jump programs will charge between $10-$20 per month for coaching, while others will charge in excess of $150 per month. And you may not even be aware of the fact that you are even signing up for coaching - the fees are buried somewhere in the fine print.

2. The author - one thing most people don't think about is the author of the jump program they are interested in. First and foremost, find out their background and experience - do they know what they are talking about? Have the trained others, including world-class athletes? Are they registered with the Better Business Bureau?

You'd be surprised to learn that several of the products that claim to be the best vertical jump program were actually authored by a marketing company! To me that signals that they are not qualified and are out to make a quick buck.

3. Customization - one area of concern for me when I was choosing the best vertical jump program was if it would be custom to my current jumping abilities and my body type. I soon found out that most of them are designed as a one size fits all type of program. I can understand this approach, as they are trying to appeal to a broad market.

Nonetheless, it didn't quite sit well with me that the same training program would apply to everyone? I mean, is the training for a 5'5" individual the same as the training for a 6'5" individual?

In your search, keep in mind that there is an alternative to this one size fits all approach. There are actually some vertical jump programs that are software based that design a training program specific to your abilities and goals. The best part is that these software-based programs generally do not cost any more than the one size fits all products.

As with anything, figure out what you really want to accomplish before you commit to buying what you think might be the best vertical jump program. And research the various products with the above items in mind and you can't go wrong.
