They may simply confuse you for a bird and fire in your direction!

To be safe while hunting, there are certain important points that you must keep in mind. These are - Wear a proper hunting vest - Many states have laws that make it mandatory to wear such a vest for safe hunting. They are normally bright orange, so that anyone can spot you. However, many hunters ignore this essential hunting precaution and flout this rule, endangering their own lives. As soon as the bird comes out, hold your bow and arrow or shotgun in position. Continue calling to the bird to draw it closer to your range. Use softer clucks and purrs if the bird is not approaching. Be careful about other birds and animals that might be attracted by your noises. Your clucks and purrs should entice the bird to come out into the open and nearer to you. Sometimes birds can display immense intelligence while at other times they can be unbelievably stupid. They cannot tell much difference between a human call and a bird call.

Nevertheless, take your shot when the bird is at close range. You should know when to stop purring and take your shot. The sound will probably scare the other birds away. All the birds will run in all directions, so it is important that you mark your target before you start shooting. Do not get tempted to kill other birds as this will result in a never-ending chase of running birds and you might end up with one too many for your freezer.

A different way to execute calling method is by the use of the mouth. There are three type of calling method, and these are wing bone, diaphragm call and box call.
